FINDING THE WORK YOU LOVE by Laurence Boldt
I found this book very influential. The author asks many questions, enough for everyone to find at least a few illuminating ones.

DOING WORK YOU LOVE:

Good all around career book.

FINDING YOUR OWN NORTH STAR by Martha Beck
I especially love her chapter on connecting to the body and tuning into the body's wisdom.

I COULD DO ANYTHING IF I ONLY KNEW WHAT IT WAS by Barbara Sher
This book covers common blocks and ways to get past them.  Great exercises.  Advice for everyone.

THE ART OF HAPPINESS AT WORK by H.H. Dalai Lama and Howard Cutler
Part of career happiness is simply learning to be happy.  This book talks about how to work with the self and the situation to find greater peace.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY LIFE? by Pro Bronson
Stories of people's career choices and how they made them.

WHAT COLOR IS YOUR PARACHUTE? by Richard Bolles
The job search advice in this book is the best in the business.

www.mycoolcareer.com is oriented mostly toward the 18-30 crowd, but for anyone who wants to consider a wide range of options, I highly recommend the podcasts of interviews with professional in different careers.

www.authentichappiness.org has a free "signature strengths survey."

www.roadtripnation.com has stories of people in many careers and explains how to interview professionals about their work.  Primarily targeted toward college students but relevant for anyone.

http://planetsark.com/index.htm is a fun site with advice for people who wish to be published authors.  Lots of positive thinking.

www.creativecareercounseling.homestead.com has fantastic links for artists, musicians and other professional creators.

www.rileyguide.com is an incredibly comprehensive web site related to careers.  Excellent advice and links.

www.jobhuntersbible.com is by Richard Bolles.  I especially love the section about how to find listings.
